125 Thank Yous!

We just wanted to thank so many that made the Wolseley 125 such a great event.

Thanks to Norman for running the show, keeping everyone involved and on track. Getting insurance, garnering support, taking holiday time off work – Thanks!

Appreciation to Otis for doing the thankless job of keeping the books – Go Otis!

Special thanks to Kim who kept the notes so well for the past 8 months (and counting!) – a hard job to determine what is Notes and what is Chatter! Thanks Kim, for your great help to encourage and remind us of everything!

This was all made easier by the support from the Town Office – Thanks Gerry, Susan, and Norman for the back and forth that helped things move forward at critical junctions: especially food vendors, behind the scenes set up, fireworks and coordinating with suppliers. We appreciated your valuable oversight for details, safety concerns, and all the rest!

Thanks to Laurie, to Gisele, Marianne, and Natasha for all the support raised, volunteers signed up, floats recruited: Every department seemed to be well stocked with helpers, the parade was GREAT, and there was enough cash to do the job. THANKS!

Special thanks to Krista and Christina and the team who took on the kids’ area! Wowsa! You made so many KIDS and PARENTS so happy!  Thank you, Tanya and team, for two days of canoeing and kayaking water activities! Michelle helped with library book sales, kids’ events, and Festivity! Such fun days! Yay!

Thanks to Kyle and his crew for the Fireworks that were a wonderful addition! – we’re thankful also for the RAIN that came at right time to make this happen!

Thanks to Jim Bonnor for all the cars and drivers and FUN you brought. And what great additions to the Parade to see these treasures! It was a busy time for you with all the organizing and all the details. Thank you, Jim!

Thanks to Roberta, Erica, Krista, Laurel, Emily and Laurie, our Ellis Trail Rider friends  Thanks to Christine (Pickle Ball), Grant & Krista (Golf), and Shaelynn (Slo-Pitch) – extremely well received entertainment. Both participants and audience enjoyed it all. Thanks for all your recruitment and putting all that together.

We appreciate all Eleanor did to get the printing done and into our hands. Making the cards and brochures with all the ALL of Changes, corrections, and input. Thanks for recruiting for the Cowboy services, the support for the printing, and correction details – Well Done Eleanor.

Thanks to Rich for the many hours making and updating the Wolseley125.ca website!

Thanks to Chantelle for running the Trade Show, getting vendors, keeping everyone watered (connected to power!) and happy. You filled Sherbrooke Street with FUN!

Big thanks to Stephen and Rod for making the Parade video such a success! Next Rose Bowl we’ll know who to call on! Thanks to those who organized the route and set us up for success! The wonderful historical tours and information provided by Stephen will be discussed for years. Thanks to you and your Art Gallery team for your help with the registration, badges, and distribution of event cards.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Cabaret and the Beer Gardens and for the selling of tickets to help with the running of the Wolseley Sportsplex, the music and entertainment – you added so much to times of connectivity and reunion and comeraderie. Our Horticultural Society provided such a good BBQ! – And thankfully we have such lovely trees to catch the raindrops, while all our wonderful musicians played, sang, and gigged their way into our hearts. Thanks to Joey, Mitchell, Ron, Rowan, Paddy, Rich, Len and Todd for your musical contributions!

We appreciate the Lions and the Knights of Columbus for the wonderful Beef Dinner and Great Pancake Breakfast! So YUM! People really enjoyed meeting-and-greeting and LOTS more tickets could have been sold! Such a HIT!

Thanks to Vance, Gerry, Connie, Emmalyne and Lucky, our willing Dunk Tank participants for putting on such a fun show and event – some might say You were ALL WET but we say You were ALL GREAT! The kids especially enjoyed this event!

People were so happy with the BINGO and Pie and warm chances to chat each other up at the Friendship Center. Thanks to all the folks who made the Standing Room Only event such a Hit!

Thanks to the Zaba’s for advertising the 125 at the Drive Inn, and to Pastor Bonk and the Christian Cowboys Association for making Sunday special. We were thankful for the People Movers giving horse rides from here to there.

Thanks to Mayor Hill for  the wonderful dedication of the Scott Pollock Memorial, and Front Street Monument – thanks also to Marty for the outstanding work.  These two new additions to our community will be celebrated for years to come!

Thank you for the many, many volunteers who worked all weekend, or who worked behind the scenes in planning and organizing, which made for such a successful event.
